The Fine Print

Bat Regulations: For games between Intel Santa Clara Softball League (ISCSL) teams, bats will be restricted further than Twin Creeks general guidelines for corporate co-ed leagues. Specific bat regulations are posted here: [pdf][html] This is a self-policing policy, and must be enforced by individual team managers. Team managers are responsible for ensuring their players and subs are in compliance with the league policies. It is recommended that managers carry a copy of the bat list with them at all games. Bats in question should be challenged at game time by the opposing manager. Illegal bats must cease to be used immediately. Challenges brought up to the league commissioner after the game is over can not be reviewed without compelling evidence. Please note that the ISCSL bat policies only apply to Intel internal-league play (Division I for Fall 2003). Non-Intel league play (cross-division play for Fall 2003) is regulated by Twin Creeks general guidelines.

ISCSL teams found to be in knowing violation of ISCSL bat regulations will be banned from ALL FUTURE ISCSL play.
ISCSL teams who violate ISCSL bat regulations accidentally will receive a one time warning. Future violations will result in being banned from ISCSL.
ISCSL teams who violate ISCSL bat regulations during playoff games, either knowingly or accidentally, will be immediately banned from the ISCSL.

Registration Instructions: Fall Leagues will be played on Wednesdays. For teams that cannot play those days, we can make alternate arrangements to get you registered. Note that your team does not have to be complete to register, and fees can be paid by credit card while you wait to receive funds from your players. Please be aware that the information on the website is updated every season, it is your responsibility to read and understand all the information in here. Every effort will be made to honor special requests. These MUST be made at the time you turn in your registration forms and MUST be attached to the FRONT of your registration. If there are no special requests indicated, your team will be placed at the discretion of the league commissioner.

Team Agreement: A team that indicates it can play on a certain day (first or second choice) accepts that it will be placed in any day indicated, based on availability, and will be left out if no days indicated have openings unless otherwise specified. Team managers should submit as much contact information as possible because placement decisions may be made at the last minute. Every effort will be made to contact the team manager in the event that the team is placed in a second choice league, but this is as a courtesy only. In the event that all Intel leagues are full, and extra teams are willing to play in mixed leagues, teams will be placed in non-Intel Twin Creeks leagues as space permits. Placement priority will be made on a first come first served basis. A submitted registration form is an agreement and commitment to play for the Summer season. If a team wishes to pull out after the form has been turned in, it becomes an issue between Twin Creeks and the team manager, the league organizer will not get involved. Twin Creeks requires a minimum of 6 teams or a maximum of 8 teams to form a self-contained league. In the event that there are not enough Intel teams to fill a complete league, or if there are overflow teams, then those leagues will be comprised of both Intel and non-Intel teams but will still be Corporate Co-Ed teams.

Player Eligibility: Although this is an Intel league, teams are not required to be comprised entirely of Intel employees. Each team MUST have an Intel employee as their primary contact, however, and all communications about the league will be made through internal Intel channels. Teams may register without a full roster, at the managers' discretion. Team rosters are due the night of your first game and are NOT finalized until your fifth game. Read the manager's handbook for more information regarding rosters and eligible players. It is the manager's responsibility to understand how playoff standings are determined and to make requests accordingly. Any questions and concerns should be directed to the league commissioner or to Twin Creeks before the time of registration. Any outstanding requests aside, the leagues will be structured to best accommodate as many teams as possible.

League Policies: Team managers are responsible for knowing all the rules and guidelines and communicating these to their players. Note that there are a few differences in rules between Intel leagues and Twin Creeks. Teams, players and/or managers that are found to be violating Intel internal rules, whether or not they are in compliance with Twin Creeks, may be barred from all future Intel league play. There are many rules that will cause automatic outs, automatic forfeits, ejection from games/leagues that do not necessarily apply in regular baseball. Leagues are adult slow-pitch softball leagues, subject to Twin Creeks' league rules as provided on the website at <http://www.twin-creeks.com>. Complete summer softball signup information is at <http://www.twin-creeks.com/signups-sb.shtml>. Twin Creeks prohibits a single player playing on more than one team in the same league. This rule is not very well enforced, and is not enforced at the Intel league level. Note that ID checks can be requested during the playoffs, so managers are discouraged from using other teams' players in the post-season. Intel Corporate leagues coordinated within this organization are expected to conduct themselves in the most utmost professional and sportsmanlike manner. It is the manager's responsibility to convey this to their team and control their players accordingly. Any behavior deemed by the league commissioner to be unseemly conduct by an Intel league team and/or individual may result in the removal of that team and/or individual from the league and exclusion from all future participation.

Required Equipment to Play: softball or baseball fielding glove for each player in the field and at least one bat per team. Gameballs, bases and umpires will be provided. Recommended equipment to play: long athletic pants, baseball style cap, batting glove(s), cleats, athletic supporter, league approved bat (see website). The Intel Corporate Co-ed Softball league and teams are independent entities and bear no legal or intellectual binding to Intel Corporation or any of its subsidiaries and/or associated parties.

League Guidelines: The guidelines outlined for each league are strong recommendations and not requirements. Teams may play in either league, but must adhere to the rules once placed in that league, and be aware of any special policies. Note that some of these rules apply to Intel leagues ONLY, and may differ from Twin Creeks' general policies. Teams, players and/or managers found to be violating Intel rules, regardless of whether or not they align with Twin Creeks' rules, may be banned from all future Intel league play. Unless otherwise stated below, Intel league rules will be the same as Twin Creeks' Corporate Co-Ed league rules.
