Chapter 9: Ok guys, stop drooling

JC woke up suddenly from his slumber. That's weird, he thought, I never wake up suddenly. Then he could hear the sounds from Julia's room. He sprang up from the bed, and peeked inside.

"Stop it, Dave," She whispered, twisting and turning in her sleep. JC could see the tears streaming down her face. Anger sprang up inside of him at the mention of Dave's name. Understanding flooded into him as he realized how much Dave had hurt her.

"Damn that bastard." He muttered, walking over to the side of the bed and nudging her. He couldn't bear to see her suffer in her sleep. "Julie?" He said gently, "Julie, wake up."

Julia was sprinted as fast as she could. She glanced behind her to see if she could spot the unseen predator that was stalking her. Then she heard that laugh, that taunting laugh. The laugh that she had heard night after night for several weeks before she had gotten up the nerve to free herself.

She felt two hands roughly grab her arms and hold her tightly. Dave's handsome face popped up from no where, contorted with anger and rage. "Hello, Julia," He said in that sweet, polite voice of his.

"Let me go, Dave," She said, struggling to get out of his grasp.

"You were never good enough for me, you know that Julia?" He continued, not seeming to have heard her demand. "You weren't good enough for me, so what makes you think that you're good enough for that pretty boy?"

"What pretty boy dammit!" She screamed.

Dave rolled his eyes. "See how naïve you are? That 'N Sync boy, what's his name," He looked up, deep in thought, "ahh, JC. You think he'd leave that gorgeous girlfriend of his for someone like you? Someone he had a one-night stand with?" He roared with laughter, "I doubt it."

"I don’t know what you're talking about!" She yelled back. "I don't like him. He doesn’t like me! Can't you just leave me alone!!"

"Julie, wake up!"

"Julie!" JC hissed, trying to get her to stop thrashing. She woke up, her brown eyes filled with such sadness and such hurt. JC wanted to kill the bastard that made her suffer like this.

"JC?" She whispered.

"Yeah," He answered back. "It's me." She started to sob. "Don't cry." He said, stroking her hair.

"It was horrible." She sobbed, crying into his chest. "Dave said horrible things-"

"Shh. Don’t listen to him." JC said soothingly. When she fell back asleep, he set her down gently and crept back to his own room. He couldn't shake the feelings that were inside of him now, all he wanted to do was hold Julia in his arms and make sure that she was safe, but at the same time he had a responsibility to fulfill to Michelle.

"Julie! Are you ready yet" Justin called, waiting by her door.

"Hold on!!" She called back. "I'm almost ready!"

"You said that twenty minutes ago!"

"I know, I was almost ready back then too!" JC smirked at her comment. He was actually happy that he had decided to go by himself instead of letting Michelle know. It would be hard to have to sort out everything he felt when he had to keep her entertained.

"Well, folks, ready to go?" Lance asked. His date was a girl named Eleanor, a funny petite blonde that JC had instantly liked from the minute he met her. She had the ability to make Lance laugh even during his worst moments, and JC thought that she must be really special to him to have that ability.

"Ok, ok, I'm ready," Julia said, coming out of her room, laughing.

"Wow." JC and Justin said together. She looked absolutely stunning. Her black hair was caught up elegantly, with black tendrils caressing the soft curves of her face. Her black dress was strapless and sparkled as the bottom of it swept over the floor.

"Okay, guys, you can stop drooling now," Chris commented, holding his girlfriend's, Danielle, hand.

"Let's get going?" Lance suggested. They all agreed. JC and Joey were the only ones without dates, but JC felt alone. He glanced at Justin and Julia and felt even more jealously bubble up.

"You look good, JC," Julia commented as they got in the elevator. He looked fabulous in his black suite. His dark blue tie matched the color of his eyes and made them more noticeable.

"What about me?" Justin said, pouting.

"What about you, Justin? Don't interrupt the lady." JC scolded.

"You only say that because she was complimenting you!" Justin said, laughing as they got into the limousine.
