"Wasn't that great?" Jessica asked, grinning widely when the arena lights had turned back on and everyone was leaving.
"WHAT?" Marielle yelled back, unaccustomed to the silence after the concert.
"WASN'T THAT GREAT?" Jessica yelled back. Marielle laughed.
"Yeah." She said, "it was."
"So, things are still bad between you and JC?" Gabi asked, studying Marielle's face.
Marielle sighed. "Yeah. He said he'd do anything if I'd have him, but I said no."
"And that's good, right?" Jessica added, unsure of whether she was supposed to agree or not.
"Yeah, I mean, what makes me think he wouldn't do something like that again? It's too complicated, guys don't like competing with my schedule." Marielle said.
"Yeah, complete losers would feel competitive against your work, Ari," Gabi said with a snort, "you save lives every day, the guy whose meant for you will be proud of you for it." She gave Marielle a confused look. "Hey, where are you going?"
"I'm going home." Marielle answered, "why? Where are you going?"
"I thought we were going backstage with the guys," Jessica said.
"Well, you two go on ahead and have them give you rides home." Marielle said, yawning, "I'm tired."
"You sure? I mean, don't let what happened between you and JC affect your friendship." Gabi said, and Marielle wondered how she always knew what she was thinking.
"I won't, but I'm really tired right now. See you guys back at the house." Gabi handed her the keys and they parted ways.
"You never told me you could draw like that!" Justin exclaimed the minute he saw Jessica as he swooped her into his arms and giving her an exaggerated kiss. She and Gabi had run into the tour bus as fast as they could, to avoid being seen by a fan.
"You never asked!" She said, kissing him back as she laughed. "Did you like the poster?"
"Did I like it?" Justin asked in disbelief, "I felt like I was looking at a mirror!" He grinned, "it scared the hell out of me." He looked around, "where's Ari?"
"She went home," Jessica said, the look on her face making Justin frown.
"Because of JC, huh?" He asked.
"Yeah, it's always because of him." Jessica said, shaking her head as she leaned in closer to him.
"He's an ass for not breaking up with Dani." Justin said, "but he wanted to Jess, I swear he did. He's got it bad for Ari."
"Well, it'll be hard to prove it now." Jessica replied, but a look of mischief came into her eyes, "you know what would be awesome? If we got the two of them to be friends again!"
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, you're leaving in a couple of days, and I don't want you to leave without them having made up." Jessica started, "so how about we fix it so that the two of them have to talk to each other?"
"That'd be a cool idea," Justin said, his smile turning wicked, "and who knows? Maybe they'll really fall for each other."
"Well, I don't know about that," Jessica said, "Marielle's got this belief that no guy would want to deal with her because of her career."
"But she's a doctor?"
"Yeah, that's why. It's hard to get out when she's in the hospital, delivering babies and saving accident victims and stuff."
"That's crazy," Justin said, "she's hot!" He coughed, grinning stupidly at Jessica, who was eyeing him, "but I'm not interested. You know that."
"Yeah, I do." She answered, smiling. "Where are the rest of the guys?"
