I have been to several conventions. My local FloridaConQuest, MegaCon, even as far as GenCon. But in 2001 I discovered the best of them all. DragonCon is aptly nicknamed "PartyCon". While GenCon was amazing, it focused primarily on the games. DragonCon has games of all kinds, panels of discussion for all topics and genra, concerts and parties all night, and so much more. It was the best time I ever had at a convention, and my group of friends and I have decided that hitting DragonCon is to be our priority above any other convention.
There are many webpages devoted to people's pictures of their trips, and reviews. Mine will have this too, but my main reason for making a page for DragonCon is to provide links, information, and advice for people planning to attend. So, look around, and I hope you find everything you need.
Floor Plans - These may be useful to study ahead of time! Warning: lots of pictures!
The Official DragonCon Website - This is THE main place to go for updates and information.
Hyatt Regency Atlanta - The "Party" hotel. This is where the games, concerts, most panels and 24 hours a day events go on.
Atlanta Marriot Marquis - This hotel has the art room, exhibit hall, dealer's room, and a few other things. This is also the one I usually stay in.
Last year - My review and views of last year's DragonCon.
My Schedule - As it nears con time the offical website puts up a pdf format schedule of events. That's when I start to drool and plan which things i'm going to. And of course, it's highly subject to change on whim once i'm actually there.
