A photo of where we parked the car for the passing of the "back" eyewall. The wind was coming straight toward the camera, and we spent a lot of time standing right where Jeff is. Note the loaf of bread in the back of my car... I travel in style! |

Trees getting knocked around by Isabel. It's most evident in the tree on the lower right. |

Trying to keep by balance and make my way over to the truck after getting out of the car. |

It was tough because the wind gusted a lot, but Jeff finally got a picture of me being held up by the wind. This was probably right after we passed into the eyewall, and winds were sustained at 90+ mph. WHEEEEEEEE!!! |

Trees seen through the blinding rain... it's very easy to see how hard it was raining and how hard the wind was blowing in this photo. Those puddles are from the rain, not the ocean -- thank goodness for that. |

Trees across from where we were standing getting blown around by Isabel. Every once in a while we heard a crack from those trees, either from a tree falling or a large limb snapping. Oh yeah, we also saw a bolt of lightning and heard a couple of rumbles of thunder... doesn't happen too often in the eyewall of a 'cane. |

I was totally waterlogged, so I got in the car for a bit and watched the barometer rise, while Jeff stayed outside and watched the storm continue. Most of the time I couldn't see him, but I cleared the fog off the windshield and ran the wipers once so that I could take a picture. |
