Said by Mark Twain, I feel this quote is an accurate description of how I see myself as a person. Yet as a writer, the need is there to reveal that which is hidden. This is the "me" that does not show, the part that which without, I would not actually be me.

But maybe that's where the real challenge lies. The side that is hidden in darkness, obscured from all light and lost in the shadows, is what needs to be found. It is obvious that this is what writing holds for me: a beacon of light with which to find myself, not only to show others, but to show Sean as well. Because ultimately, this is what I desire: to be the explorer, eternally searching, and the artist, continually painting.

In the end, I hope what I find isn't too gruesome.
