The girl you saw in the park yesterday,
the one with the spiked collar
                 and burgundy hair,
She's lying in her grave.

You almost spoke to her.
         She looked so sad.
But you turned away,
not to be associated with the sort.
Her life was in your hands.
         Did you even realize?

She had battled with her life,
         with her mother,
with her sorry excuses for friends,
                 for too long.
A black crow landed on her shoulder,
         telling her something
                 she couldn't forget,
         couldn't live with.

You had seen her only moments before.
Half empty beer bottle in hand.
You could have stopped her,
         saved her life,
Did you even realize?

They found her by the river,
         face down in the mud.
She had slit her wrists
with a broken bottle of beer.

You knew she looked disturbed.
There was something in her eyes,
                 Black as?
         a Crow.
Was your reputation worth the life lost?

Her mother cries now,
         blood red rose in hand.
Wondering
what could have been done to stop her?
But you know now, don't you?

You could have saved her life.
         Did you even realize?
