MICHAEL IRONSIDE

BIRTHDATE: February 12, 1950 BIRTHPLACE: Toronto, Ontario, Canada MARITAL STATUS: Married, one child WHY HE DESERVES HIS BIG BREAK: Like fellow actor Andrew Divoff, Michael Ironside is a very cool, charismatic actor who unfortunately needs a little assistance in picking out better scripts.  For every Top Gun, Ironside has appeared in movies like Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone, Highlander II: the Quickening, The Killing Machine, and The Omega Code. Born in Canada, Michael Ironside's first prominent role was as Darryl Revok, a mysterious loner with a murderous telepathic ability in David Cronenberg's Scanners.  Since then, he's been known as one of the B movies' greatest villains, appearing in such films as Total Recall and The Next Karate Kid (like I said, most of his movie are not very good, but through no fault of his own).  He has played "good guys" in the TV miniseries V and Starship Troopers, but even then you were never quite sure if he was going to stay good or suddenly turn around and shoot Casper Van Dien in the head.  In our humble opinion, Ironside's best performance was in the little-seen Destiny to Order (1990).  He plays Kenrick, a pulp fiction villain who comes to life and wreaks havoc on his creator and society in general. Michael Ironside recently appeared in respectable supporting role in The Perfect Storm and TV's Nuremberg, but his upcoming film appearances include reprising his role in Megiddo: Omega Code 2.  Let us help you pick better scripts, Michael.  You deserve a break today.
