This 4-space rack is loaded with a dbx 266XL Compressor Gate,
a Lexicon MPX 100 Dual Channel Processor, and a Behringer
Ultra-Graph Pro Dual 31-Band Equalizer.

The compressor gate is used to "squeeze" the dynamic range of
an audio signal to increase intelligibility of the sound.
The gate section can be used to eliminate background noise
by switching off the audio path when it drops below a
selectable threshhold.

The processor can be used as a stereo system or in dual mode,
two different effects can be used at once. The effects can
be "tweaked" from the front panel and include echo, delay,
reverb, flange, pitch shift and others.

The equalizer has 31 frequency bands so that each one is narrow
enough to be used for notching out feedback in live performance.
I use one channel for the stage monitors in this mode to maximize
the gain before feedback for the sound my blues band hears. The
other channel is used for the main speakers that the audience hears.
This channel is adjusted to give the audience a frequency
balanced sound where all the instruments from bass guitar
to cymbals are heard equally as well.
