Digimon Tamers
The Show

Digimon Tamers is the unofficial season 3 although it is a completely new show that has no connections to the previous 2 seasons. Tamers revolves around the digibattle card game and digivolving is significantly harder than in previous shows. The characters carry the new generation of digivice, the "D-Arc". The D-Arc is the essential Tamer gear. It is a multifunction tool that can locate a Tamer's digimon, analyse opponent digimon, and allow the Tamers to make use of their new powerups known as Digibattle cards. These are not your everyday cards, they have a special strip on the left side which allows any card reader to identify the cards. In the case of the D-Arc, the ability on the cards is activated when the card is "Slashed". This enables the digimon to gain additional abilities such as health, speed, attacks, and even flying.

Other Things:

Blue Card: The blue cards are mysterious cards that first enabled the kids to become Tamers and later allows Matrix evolution without the aid of Culumon (Culumon must be present for the first evolution only). It is unknown who fabricated the blue cards or what they can potentially do.
D-Arc: This is the digivice of season 3, these handy devices can be worn pretty much any way you want and allows the kids to use certain functions such as locators, Digimon analyser, Card Slash, etc.
Matrix Evolution: Like an evolution, this is when the digimon digivolves to a higher level. While evolving takes the digimon to the Champion level, Matrix Evolutions are the digivolutions to Ultimate.
