POV-Person consists of a free set of files that can be used in conjunction with the free POV-Ray raytracing software.
POV-Person includes definitions for body parts, clothing, hair and other objects plus a set of macros for assembling those components into a representation of a human figure that matches your specifications. It is designed to allow people with little prior experience of POV-Ray to add a person to a POV-Ray scene. To use this package you will need an understanding of the concepts of raytracing and at least a rudimentary knowledge of the Scene Description Language and the coordinate system used by POV-Ray.
This is an Alpha release, published to encourage community feedback on the project.

The following images illustrate the type of staircases that can be generated using POV-Stairs in conjunction with POV-Ray using just a few lines of code:
The POV-Person library supports animation and the generation of crowds of randomly defined people. You can also add your own definitions to construct figures to suit your own needs.
