The characters of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess are the property of Renaissance Pictures, MCA/Universal, and StudiosUSA. No copyright infringement is intended, and no dinars will cross Scribe's palm for this flight of fancy. The Olympian gods are public domain and belong to no one person or organization. Any new characters not officially part of the Xenaverse are creations of Scribe's imagination, and will be dispatched at the end in order to preserve the Almighty Continuity.

Warning: This story contains scenes of violence.

Sex: Strictly M/F, some graphic, and some of questionable orientation. Anyone under the age of 17 is advised to seek parental guidance before reading this story.

Length Warning: This tale is quite a bit longer than most fan fiction stories in the Xenaverse.

Time Period: The tale occurs following the "Full Circle" episode of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and the fifth season of Xena: Warrior Princess.

Writer's Forward: This tale is based upon the myth of Ares' four sons who rode into battle with him. According to the Encyclopedia Mythica, "When Ares heard the clashing of arms, he grinned with glee, put on his gleaming helmet, and leapt into his war chariot. Brandishing his sword, he rushed into the thick of battle, not caring who won or lost as long as blood was shed. A vicious crowd followed at his heels, carrying with them Pain, Panic, Famine and Oblivion."

Writer's Note: While this is not my first effort at fan fiction, it is the first I've been willing to post to the world at large. Thanks to the encouragement (aka harassment) of Power Chakram, I was persuaded to take an idea I had tinkered with for my own entertainment and bring it to The Power & The Passion for the enjoyment of all Herculeans and Xenites, and thus, here it is!

I would like to heartily thank Power Chakram and Hermit (aka Bluesong) for taking time to be my beta readers, and I hope that their apparent enjoyment of my work will hold true for all who peruse this story, and I extend thanks in advance to those who do give it a read. Questions and comments are welcome, though I hope this tale doesn't inspire any flame letters!

Live Long and Prosper!
