The Psychology of Shortcuts -
American Billionaires
Why would MrShortcut invest one million and five hundred thousand highly-focused, highly-prized unpaid minutes on YOUR success?
With 471 men and women owning or controlling about seventy percent of all the cash on earth, there are a thousand dead bodies per hour just from starvation.
The faster I grow new millionaires, the sooner we dispense with the single most preventable disease on earth starvation
Please explain how it's okay for college coaches to get salaries that up to twenty-six times the salary of a full professor, such as Notre Dame decided to do, yet when it comes to babies and small kids who have not committed crimes, young kids who fall asleep with ravenous hunger pangs, a thousand kids per hour dying, thousands more suffering so tragically as we stand here with our thumbs up our collective keisters.
If you really, genuinely believe that you cannot make a huge, history-altering difference, you might want to consider the following.
Benjamin Franklin left about four hundred and fifty dollars in a bank, with instructions that only part of the interest, and none of the principal, be used to train printing apprentices from financially depressed areas, for a period of two hundred years. With many chunks given out along the way, the fund came due just before the turn of the 21st century, and, having paid to train a few thousand printing apprentices, there were close to twenty piles left, of a million dollars each.
Imagine, please, leaving a one hundred-dollar bill -- more appropos with the photoengraving of Benjamin Franklin on it -- in a bank account for two hundred years... with none of the principle OR interest touched until the end of two centuries.
Whoah!
Figuring conservatively seven years for the sum to double, two hundred years contains twenty-seven separate doublings!! Let's say it again:
Whoah.
The final four years of the two hundred years will bring more than all the previous doublings all added up together.
Billions of dollars, my history-changing friend.
Billions of dollars.
At that point, three percent to banks, lawyers, and fund administrators, one percent to be reinvested the same way... ... and ninety-six percent spent on food, with no more than ten percent of that sum going to administrative and delivery charges. This leaves enough to feed millions and millions of starving people.
This is how you change the world forever. Personally.
Billionaires think just a bit differently. Should you take the time and trouble to interview or break bread with dozens of self-made billionaires, and study the words of dozens of other self-made billionaires, you will find that they are flexible, and they ask more people for what they want more times than any other people on the planet.
