FAQ

The newscast is from the station WPOW in Gutchter Heights. Where is that?
It's located somwhere low in the mid section of the central region of Michigan's upper peninsula,
near Iron Flats and Deerfield Heights. Don't try to find it on a map, it's way too small.
Many people who live there have difficulty finding it.

How many people work at WPOW?
Upwards of 25, but the number is always changing.
It primarily depends on who has what it takes to work in the high paced news industry,
how many college students are looking for internships,
and who will drive their car through two foot snow banks for the perfect story.

I have a great story idea for the newscast. How can I submit it?
Due to industry rules, we can not accept story ideas from outside sources.
However, we are always looking for good help for various positions, including some in our newscast.
Just drop us a line and we'll tell you when to show up.

When watching the show, the same people seem to turn up both in the bacground of station shots and in all sorts of different news packages. Why is this?
Many people at WPOW are very involved in the community. It helps locate news when it is happening,
and gives them something to do to pass time in Gutchter Heights.

Why don't many people have an upper peninsula, Michigan accent, eh?
Many people come to WPOW from other regions. Their accents simply reflect where they are from.

Power News Guy, you do realize this is just a TV show, right?
To some, perhaps.
To me Power News is the greatest achievement in television since that singing big-mouth bass!
