to add my two cents to this --
there's a song on the new Richard Thompson album, Mock Tudor, that suddenly
did it to me, much to my surprise. It's called "Uninhabited Man" -- go get
the album and tell me what you think, everyone.

He's done it to me before -- np: "Bee's Wing"

I have changed the second art page for Jimmy Johns to:

due to space restrictions.

I bet you say that to all the girls.

Good point! There are quite a few 80's new wave records at 1'20" I would
like to edit to death.

What got me into to GG was Playing The Fool, which I borrowed from a friend
because I had heard so many references to the band in reading about Jethro
Tull and such.
Couldn't believe that they could pull that off live, and when they went into
the A Cappella fugue of "On Reflection," I was an instant Gentle Giant
fanatic.

I then proceeded to spend ALL of my money getting EVERY album on Dan
Barrett's amazing web site - up to the tribute and compilation albums.
And thanks to a great fellow for providing me with In A Glass House after my
searches for that one proved fruitless.
My favorite? In A Glass House.
Thanks, Steven!

No kidding. If I thought I'd hear "Siberian Katru" or something (anything!)
from Drama, then I'd see the damned show. How about "South Side Of The Sky"
or "Going For The One"?

How about "Astral Traveler"?

Jerry notes:

<< Interesting that almost
no one ever dumps on Scheherazade & Other Stories (75) even though it
contained The Vultures Fly High, which certainly sounded like a singles
attempt (if not a typical pop song) to me. >>

I've always wondered if that song irritated me.

Especially after listening to the album from the beginning.
I've come to the conclusion that I actually like the song, but there sure is
a weird kind of poppy-ness to it.
Well, maybe it does irritate me. Or does it?

There seems to be new material once every decade by TS. When was this
recorded? Also in 1999? Please post the song titles for us.

Head was released after The Birds & The Bees. It was the last official
Monkees album featuring the original 4. After the movie, Tork quit. Too
bad. The last few albums by them were wonderful. -David Eric

Here is the song list. It is a tribute album to Howling Wolf (Burnett),
One of T.S. McPhee's heros. His liner notes were written for this '99
release in '98.

Smokestack Lightnin'
Baby, how long
Commit A Crime
Forty Four
No Place To Go
Ain't superstitious
Evil
So Glad
My Life
Sittin' On Top Of The World
Shake For Me
Wang Dang Doodle
How Many More Years
Nature
Down In The Bottom

Yes my friends ... another "Tribute", but a great one.
