Shawshank Redemption
This is a story of man who is sentenced for life for wife's murder. The character of Andy is so strong that you feel inspired. You feel that if a man can fight against such odds and still not lose his core self, there is hope in life.

Lagaan
Aamir Khan's own production. First one and quite good. It is story of peasants fighting against the Britishers for getting tax exemption. The battle takes form of a cricket match. Interestingly, I could see the some agency theory implications in it. Britishers unfairly pose double the normal tax on the peasants of Champaner. The village hero, Bhuvan, accepts a challenge that if the village team beats British team in a game of cricket, they will get a tax exemption for three years. However, if they lose they will have to pay thrice the normal tax. Of course, this is a high risk strategy. But double the normal tax in itself will leave the peasants with nothing. So thrice the normal tax can't be any worse. So the downside is not any worse. On the other hand, the upside is excellent - no tax for three years. Thus like shareholders of an almost bankrupt company, Bhuvan prefers a high risk strategy.

Yadakadachit
Sufficiently funny. This is Mahabharat remix, in which everything happens the other way. Pandavs end up winning "dyoot" and Kauravs go into Vanavas. It also has comments on current politics. Entertaining.
