Friends

I have lots of friends. So I am classifying them based on various stages in my life.

College

In college we had a large group, initially with 7 core members - Shubhangi, Aasawari, Sadhana, Arati, Manasi, Vidya and I. Later on it went on to expand to include Papiya, Shemanti, Shefali and so on. We went for picnics, movies, and festivals and did all kinds of things. Especially, we always celebrated the new year eve together. It was a wonderful period. Currently, Aasawari, Manasi, Papiya, Shefali, Arati, Sadhana and Vidya are married. Manasi, Aasawari, Papiya and Shefali have gone far ahead and have cute kids. Shemanti is working with Tatas. Shemanti and I shared the first rank in our HSC exam. Mona is working with TCS and is in US on a project.

Shubhangi and I spent lot of time together. We have shared many happy and sad moments. Any time we felt like going out, we just took out our two wheelers and went on for shopping or movies. Shubhangi also completed her Chartered Accountancy with me. Currently, she is working with Philips.

Chartered Accountancy

We were a big group of thick friends at Zaware’s Professional Academy (ZPA) as we sailed through the four years of the C.A. course from the Foundation to the Final. Annual functions, annual picnics and parties along with seminars and presentations were the essence of life at ZPA along with rigourous studies. Almost all of these friends are settled in jobs while some of them are pursuing higher education.

During the course, three years were spent during the internship at Gadre and Bhide. The groups of "articles" there had fine skills in income tax and could answer any subtle question on the said topic. This was backed rigourously by group discussions and attending seminars. Of course, none of them (Deo, Nilesh, Archana, Madhuchhanda, Yogesh, Anand, Chandrakant et al) were of serious type. We had a lot of fun through picnics, treats and gossiping.

Cummins India Limited

My term of one and half year with Cummins India Limited brought me quite close to Mr Gurav, Anuja and Abhijit. We worked together, ate together and laughed together. Typically, Anuja and I would team up to pull Mr Gurav’s leg. Abhijit would join us occasionally. Sometimes however, we would join hands with Mr Gurav and pull Abhijit’s leg.

Other friends at Cummins include Ajit Khire(he was my assistant. We had great time working together)), Jitendra, Subramaniam, Rajendra, Chitnis.... Well the whole finance department and more.

IIM Bangalore

Well, I will have to take 180 names here (400 actually including the junior batch). Just kidding! But definitely there are lots and lots of them. Let me just say that the two years at IIMB were the best in my life.

Los Angeles

Los Angeles was quite interesting because I made friends from different countries - US, China, Sweden, Mexico, France, England. We had a gala time. But the best time was at NCU (Namrata's Cooking University) with dean Namrata alias Nammo and heads of departments Meghna and Juthika (Murgi and Chamko). I did a "course" on cooking Chhole and rice.
