Anyone who thinks that all animal rights activists are also animal lovers should think again.  People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) fundamentally opposes the ownership of animals, pets included. They would rather see pets dead or running free, helpless and homeless, than with human owners who love and care for them.

PETA members in the USA who, under the guise of an animal rescue mission, killed and dumped the bodies of several stray pets go on trial today.  I'll be watching this story in the hopes that justice for helpless pets is served and that the truth about PETA comes out.

Ethical breeders will always take the animals they "make" back into their home -- or find  one closeby -- if pet owners are no longer able to care for them. They will also participate in the rescue of animals of their own breed.
