Ralindi's Ring of Dark Dominion

This is a magical ring made of a flat, non-reflective metal and set with a round-carved stone of pure obsidian. When placed upon the index finger of the wearer's left hand, the ring activates, and within one round transports the willing wearer to the vestibule of Prince Jherek's fortress in the Demiplane of Nightmares. The traveler may stay as long as he wears the Ring (subject to below conditions), and is immune to the insanity effects of the realm.

However, the effectiveness of the Ring draws upon the Dreamlands (fifth circle) ability of the High Master of Dream Magic. The Ring's power is in effect only so long as the High Master has this power remaining (i.e., If Jherek has not yet used Dreamlands this month, or is using it concurrently, Ralindi may use the Ring. If Jherek has used the power already this month, the Ring is useless until next month).

The Ring of Dark Dominion was created for Ralindi by Prince Jherek as a gift. Jherek was attempting to fuel Ralindi's fire concerning the Dream Magic craft—He would have liked his son to succeed him as High Master). It functions only for Ralindi, and will only function so long as Jherek is alive...unless the next High Master chooses to renew its powers.

Rejladan's Spectacles of True Meaning

The Spectacles of True Meaning were created for Rejladan Virayana by his father, Prince Jherek, as a gift upon his recovery, and subsequent self-immersion in the study of law. The runes upon the spectacles' frame (in part) spell out its owner's name. Should anyone other than Rejladan (or Jherek) use the spectacles, they will not function.

These Spectacles are rimmed in thin, fine silver, ornate with filigree and arcane runes, with thin lenses made of clear, enchanted crystal. They are attached to a thin, but strong, silver chain which can hang about the wearer's neck for convenience. These spectacles work as a translating device, allowing their user to read documents written in various languages or alphabets.

As the wearer of the Spectacles regards a document, book, scroll, or any written text, the writing blurs, then resolves into legible, printed Krondaharan (the Ethengarian dialect of Glantri). The translation is for meaning, rather than literal, allowing the reader to quickly grasp the contents of the document. All non-magical written materials may be translated, provided that they are written in (what the creator, Prince Jherek, considered) a "major" Glantrian dialect. These include Belcadizan Elvish, Averoignian, Thyatian (Glantrian, Aalbanese, and Caurenzan dialects), Boldavian, and Flaemish. Closely-related languages (for example, Traladaran, Common Thyatian, Alfheim Elvish, etc.) have a 75% chance of successful translation.

The Spectacles use a unique variant of read languages, transforming the words into Krondaharan via a powerful illusion. This illusion (the translation) lasts 1d6 turns per use, and may be used three times per day. Given these boundaries, the Spectacles only fail if the document they are attempting to translate is already protected from translation (or true seeing) by spells higher than 2nd level.

The Spectacles do not need recharged. Of course, they do fail on the Day of Dread.

Rejladan's Quill of Ever-Inking

The Quill was a gift to Rejladan Virayana from Urmahid Krinagar upon his acceptance into the Great School of Magic.

This slim quill is shaped in titanium, and overlaid in pure silver and gold. It is unbreakable and unbendable by all non-magical means. When gripped as a normal quill and prompted by a command word (engraved on the shaft), the Quill is activated. The user may then write with the Quill as if with a normal quill pen, save that black ink flows from this item magically, and never needs dipping or replenishing. Ink from the Quill flows evenly according to need, and will neither smear nor need blotting. It is instantly dry upon whatever medium is used. The ink may be removed from skin, fabrics, etc., as with non-magical ink).
