In the Silver Millenium, Queen Serenity formed an alliance with the Andromeda galaxy. As a gesture of the great friendship between the two galaxies, Queen Serenity bestowed Sailor Senshi privleges to her dear friend, Iris, and sent her to Andromeda as Ambassador, and as the one Senshi of Andromeda. The title of Sailor Andromeda was passed on to her daughter, Kira, when she turned 12. Are you getting all this? So when the Negaverse attacked the Moon Kingdom, all communications and portals between the two galaxies were destroyed, and Kira was trapped in Andromeda; unable to aid the other Princesses. Technically, Kira isn't really a Princess of Andromeda. It's an honorary title (she's called the Prism Princess). Anyway, when the Andromedans found out about the attack, and learned the result, they used the power of the Andromeda Jewel to send Prince Perseus (Michael)(the Thunderbolt Knight) and Kira to the future with the Moon Kingdom royalty. (They also made the ruins of the Moon Kingdom invisible and undetectable to Earthers, but you'll read about that later). However, Kira's time bubble was damaged by the remnants of a Negaverse attack, and she was not sent forward in time, or re-youthened; she was placed in a state of ageless sleep, and stayed 16. Since she isn't a very heavy sleeper, she spent about a total of two-hundred years awake during the 1000 some-odd year sleep. Talk about insomnia! Is it any wonder that she's a little strange?
So that's why Kira's 1016, and why she was born in 978. Anyway, in 1994, her bubble FINALLY reached Earth, and she fell 100 feet (she's got good shock absorbers), landed right atop a yoma, and killed it. How lucky. She decided to live with Rei, and she attends 9th grade at Brookdale Private School. She's best buds with Celeste, and hangs out with Michael a lot. She's also got a huuge crush on Darien...but don't tell! It'll go away...
Oh yeah...in the Moon Kingdom, Kira and Perseus (Michael) were betrothed, but it wasn't the deep love thing that Darien and Serena have...it was an alliance thing, but they were good buddies, so they didn't mind too much. Now, they flirt, and are great friends. And they get together to play video games. Funfun!
