17. THE MEET AT MYLAPORE
In 1967, addressing the All India Sai Samaj at Mylapore at Madras,
Baba had opened His discourse in His customary sweet words, "Pavitra Atmaswaroopas'
Although you are seeing this body for the first time but I have been present in
this temple since long." In January 1959 alsoBaba had addressed the same
samaj at Madras and had spoken about the inherent doubts and difficulties that
one feels in realising the identity of the two Sais. "The Avatars of Sri
Rama and Sri Krishna are so different in the various incidents of their earthly
careers; they also emphasised different aspects of ethical behaviour and philosophical
bellef; they differed in the methods of teaching and uplifting. It is a difference
in emphasis rather than in basic things. It is difficult to get convinced that
Sri R ama is Sri Krishna but few have any doubts on that score. So, too, those
who can delve deep into My mysteries can understand that the same power has now
assumed another human form.
