Chiel

I'm Chiel, born , raised and still living in Holland. I was born on Mick Jagger's birthday.

And because of 6 big brothers I heard a lot from him and his friends the following years. My 2 sisters didn't have that much of an influence to my musical "taste".

My dad used to be a farmer (retired now), You can say I am an "accident" .

My youngest brother is 9 years older than me, my oldest brother 20. My mother was 47 when I was born, my dad 48.

I always joke that I'm the evidence of great potential in the family. anyway..

School was a piece of cake for me. However I hated homework. Not just hated, but really hated! So I just didn't do it. I had to redo a class one time, and the second time I just changed schools. Then I had to choose a direction (age 16) Of course I couldn't make up my mind, so I just went to the school with the least amount of homework, so if I just payed attention at school, I just didn't need to do any!

Ever heard of someone so stubborn?

I just did that agriculture school with ease. Mainly because it was below my level, so if they repeated everything once in class, I could remember it till the day of the tests..

The I studied exactly 15 minutes for the final exams at the end of the 4 years. I missed the English exams, received a 0 for it (on a scale 1 to 10).. even lower than the lowest for not showing up. (I had an unimportant job application, I forgot to reschedule that one, and I got the job, but turned it down)

Anyway, even with the 0 the average stuck on a 8 (10's all year) It would be a 9 if the finals weren't Finals!

It didn't matter anyway. The last 2 years of agriculture school used to be one year, but the government decided to split one to two so they could spend more money on me.

That money I used to get my drivers licences. Unlike in the USA (I don't know about Canada) you can't just BUY them. Here we have very high demands on driving skills.

I had about 28 lessons for a normal license. then about 30 for a bob-tail, and an additional 20 for a complete 18 wheeler. they costed about 70 guilders each! (one hour) Again I don't know about Canada, but Fl 1.93 (1.93 guilder) equals US$1.0 so all together I spent a lot of money on getting the licenses. That was what the application was for. One month before leaving school I got the last license I needed to drive an 18-wheeler. (this must be a pretty boring letter, but I can't leave out a thing)

I got a lot of luck, I started working, driving a little truck (8 meters long) 2 nights a week for a fresh food chain.

I 've worked since I was allowed to (age 15) for several companies. Mainly saturdays and holidays, but sometimes after school too. I needed the money for going out, and pay the drivers licenses.

so when the contract ended on the little truck I expected a new contract, but it was only for 2 months, so I got a tip from an temporary personnel agency I worked a few times for (they borrow personnel to companies, mainly on a daily base) I got a contract to work on saturdays for a huge transport and food company. After that contract followed 2 others, and the last one doesn't end! so I'm still working there. I found out I get more money and more work (orders) if I volunteer to work at night. So I did. I work 5 nights a week, about 45 weeks a year. done nightwork for almost 2 years now. I just got back from a 4 week vacation in Texas. It didn't take me a long time to decide I'm going there next year again! But then in the summertime!. Not that March wasn't warm enough, but for tourists it's off-season.

I got a nice sunset view of Montreal! (the plane home flew over Montreal) It looked like there was snow .

Anyway.. I'm going back there next year. I forgot to mention I stayed with 2 IRC friends. I met them on IRC little more than a year ago. They say I waste my time driving trucks. I should start in the computer business. They don't understand it.. To have to work on a computer is just like homework to me.... It won't last long then.

But if I don't HAVE to do anything.. I might do it on my own.

That's my story. I guess I love freedom. freedom at work, freedom at home, freedom with friends, and the freedom of love.

C (I found out english ppl can't say my name right, so I just call myself C)
