Decadence Within played many years back in Ireland. Was a great energetic gig, I got chatting for ages to their friend Steve who was travelling with them. He did a fantasic zine called 'Crisispoint', and as far as I remember had just released an album by Liberty.
A short interview with Decadence Within was done by Gus(who used to be the bass player in Manhole) for protest zine. This interview appeared in issue 5.(Blame him for the crap questions!)

1. What do you think of Ireland so far??
Ireland is fucking great, pardon my French, these last four gigs with Herb Garden have been such a great laugh. Played some great places, a big thanks goes out to Andy of Alumni Feedback for bringing us over again

2. What do you think you have achieved so far?
We have continued to plod on in our own way not trying to follow trends but obviously we get labelled from time to time. I[RID] consider us to be four individuals, all have different musical tastes, quite an age difference between us. We're not all from the same town yet when we get together our ideas are not dissimilar and tend to gel together to what we produce. We enjoy what we do and enjoy having a laugh, all good clean fun.

So far we have released 2 LP's and 2 7"s and over that period the musical style has changed due to new ideas and progression. We're happy with the sound, obviously we would all like to sound like our favourite bands, but what would be the point, that wouldn't be achieving anything. What we do is Decadence Within.

3. What are "Peaceville Records" like, considering the fact that they're such a big label anymore?
Fair play to Peaceville for taking an interest in us, but things have changed a lot since we signed. It has turned into a death metal label whereas we won't.
It's nobody's fault but we just stick out like a sore thumb really. It's time to move on now, so we're looking for a new label, one where we won't be so out of place.

4. What do you think of Sean?
Sean your a madman, Cheers for taking an interest, normally no one in their right mind would dream of it!

5. Any future plans?
As previous question but thanks for the interview and a place in the zine. Thanks to everyone who came to the gigs in Ireland and to all those who have helped Decadence Within over the past eight years.
