(or the Stick interview)

E.O.W were a new enough band on the underground punk scene, who first came to my attention when I heard Stick from E.N.T, Doom, Dirt and a millions of other great bands, was in them. The interview is just before they released their album, in 1994. Also in their ranks was a friend of mine Mags from from my hometown, Cork. This should have really been called the Stick interview as, you'll find out I was asking him about every other band he was in too, which was pretty ignorant on my behalf , sure its even a picture of Doom included, 'cause I've no photos of E.O.W!

I hear that your first demo cost £15 & ye did it only after 2 pactises, are ye all the same orginal members in the band ?
Yep!It's true,I think it was £ 16,but the 2 practise bit is right. It was pretty spontaneous as I was going away to Europe & wanted to let people hear the new band. That line-up was me dms,Tom-guitar&vocals,Rat-bass&vocals. We've had a fair few changes along the way. It's still Stick/Tom-guitar,but now we have Mal-bass & 2 vocalssts, Leigh & Mags, ones a bloke & ones a girly.

How long has "R.T.P"records & E.O.W being going? what releases have ye to date?Have ye done many gigs & is it hard to do them since ye're all in other bands?
"R.T.P" records only released thenE.O.Wn7t<(the waste & the geeed)& isn't really doing isn't doing anything at present the label is The label is run by Mark Bailey who also was in the band on 2nd guitar in 1 particular line-up.E.O.W started earley'90.The releases so far are a split e.p.on Finn records(with Dischange)A full 7"(see above)& we've recorded 2 demos.(still available)We go into studio feb'93 to record a full L.p.but when that appears is anyones guess.Gig-wise we've not done many as we've always had unstable line-ups until recently. The"other bands" thing isn't too much of a problem.

Did you get to talking to any famous people at the Brit Awards?what was the general atmosphere there like?Is the split single with the"K.L,F"&"E.N.T" ever going to be released on any l.p?
This isn't really an"E.O.W"question is it!I don't remember that much about it as I was pissed out of my mind,it was a a laugh,so I enjoyed it I suppose. The K.L.F/E.N.T thing may come out on an l.p but I'm no longer in E.N.T so I can't tell you about their plans.

Is is there any truth thaf'DOOM" could reform as its always rumoured? What do you think of Bri's(ex-doom)new band "WARFEAR^What are the rest of DOOM up to are they still doing SORE THROAT?
DOOM did reform, with the orginal line up,but not for long. We're still going but have a new^better line-up.I thought warfear were o.k,but they split ages ago(same as SORE THROAT)Pete & Jon are doing a very slow band called CAIN.

I hear due to the Brit Awards a big gig organiser is doing loads of gigs for ENT can ye still control door prices, etc due to this as I was going to see ye in London with BAD RELIGON but it weas£15,it was cancelled, did ye evenually play?
ENT did go with an agency for a tour, they never got to play the B.RELIGION gig.

I know your not involed with"RAW NOISE' but I heard they &"CHOAS U.K'.'haven't received any money from there split Ip.is this true?
So much for the E.O.W interview eh!I know Dean Jones(ENTvox)was instrumental in putting ing out the lp,& I've heard CHAOS U.K.weren't n't pleased about it,why not ask them?

Last question,do you want to say any thing to PROTEST readership?Do you ever think ye might play here?
I think theres a good chance we'll make it to Ireland evenually as Mags comes from Cork orginally.so she says you won't eat us(tho we're good enough to eat,ha!)WE've got some E.O.W shirts/£5.Demos £1.50,split eps£1.50 for sale if anyones interested write to Stick or if ya just want info send an s.a.e
