I first heard Wolf Pack in 1996, when Distortion records sent me a promo to review, I was blown away by it and have been following their music since. Wolf Brigade 'Progression/regression'
is now one of my all time favourite records. Thanks to Micke their singer for answering the questions. A week after getting this interview (2004) Wolf Brigade split up, great pity as they were a brillant band.
Protest: How do you find the differance between touring in the states and europe?
Well, when you tour europe you usaly have a club or a squat to play at, in the states we played at a pizza place,a sandwish-bar and so on. We even played at a boxing club,in the boxing ring,ha ha. It was great to tour the US,but they seems to have alot of problems with the police and shit. But people treated us really great and we had alot of fun!
What was the most enjoyable gig you've played?
We played at KÖPI(Berlin) Summer 2002 and it was great. The place was packed and the crowd had this really posetive energy and they made us do a really great gig.
Do you play alot around Sweden? any local bands you could recommend?
No,we all live in different parts of sweden so it makes it really hard and expensive to rehurse for a show.We manely get together before a tour or a recording. Good bands: Martyrdöd,To what end?, Sunday morning einstains,Hetsapa,Imperial leather,Stajnas lobos .
What are your influences?
Anything from older punkbands like: Broken bones,Discharge,Varukers,Asta kask,Poison idea,Puke,Amebix and new bands like:Tragedy,Born dead icons. Anything with the D-beat i guess, haha. Oh,not to forget the masters of music,Motorhead!
What do you think about downloading programs that let people
download your music freely, and other bands music as well. Do you think this is a good or bad idea?
I think it´s great that you can download music from the net. But it sucks if it effects small diy labels and distros in a negative way!
What are the future plans for the band?releases tours,etc...?
We just released our 5th album and it´s called "In darkness you feel no regrets".It´s released on Feral ward records. We are about to record a ep to support our USA tour in may. And that is all we have planned so far.
Thanx for the questions/
Micke + the wolfbrigade.
