Breast Cancer in the state of California is much the same as other states were cancer is running rampant in women over 40 years of age, even when there is no history of cancer in the family.This is one of the things that my wife and I could not understand at all, nor could we get an answer from the doctor that was satisfactory. She had no hint of cancer in her family on either side of the family. She ate well, exercised and was not overweight. She did not smoke and she drank occasionally. All the factors that some people indicate are causes of cancer were absent in her case.
There was one area and that was stress, which to my understanding has not been proven to be one of the causes of cancer, however in my wife's case she had a lot of stress caused by sick parents that may have contributed to cancer forming in her body. There is no scientific proof so we really cannot count that. She also grew up in a home were both parents smoked, however that was over 45 years ago when she was exposed to smoke on a daily basis.
