In the Name of Allah, The Compassionate, The Merciful

Moral values as regarded by Imam Muhammad Baqir (AS)
Ties of the kinship
1/ Keeping the ties of kinship brings good humor, open-handedness, purity of soul, solvency and longer life.

2/ On the Day of Resurrection (Last Day), your kin prays to God to extend His mercy over those who kept the ties of kinship with you and not to extend it over those who unjustly brake off such ties.

3/ Imam Baqir (as) quoted the Prophet (saw) as having said that
keeping the ties of kinship will give the quickest reward.

4/  Imam Baqir (as) quoted the Prophet (saw) as having said that
he would advise his followers and even later generations until the Last Day to keep the ties of kinship, for Islam ordains so.

5/  Imam Baqir (as) quoted Abuzar as having said that the Prophet (saw) referred to the
observance of the ties of kinship and keeping the trust to be the two edges of the bridge between the Paradise and Hell.

Those who kept such ties and do not betray the trust would go to Paradise, but those who violate these ordinances would be infernal people.

6/  God knows two steps as the best of all steps:  The step to join the ranks for Divine Cause, and the step towards your kin and towards those of them who have broken off the ties of kinship.

7/  Observance of ties of kinship, purifies your deeds, avertss disaster, increases your profits, makes reckoning easy and gives you a longer life.

8/  Imam Baqir (as) quoted the Prophet (saw) as having said that goodness to parents and to kin makes reckoning easy on the Last Day.  The the Prophet (saw) recited the Qur'anic verse:
"And those who join that which Allah has bidden to be joined."  (13:21)

9/  Imam Ali (as) said that when the kin breaks off the ties of kinship, wealth will fall into the hands of the wicked.
