Why
his hair changes colour
From a deep navy to ash
blonde, it's obvious little has changed in Krelian's appearance
after five hundred years except his hair colour. Below is the most
likely reason for this, followed by some other hypotheses, likely
and not-so-likely (they get sillier on the way down; my bad) ...
- After he joined Solaris, he dyed his hair so he would look more
like a true Solarian in order to fit in and be accepted as a high
ranking official in the government. The first class people of
Solaris (for example, Elly's parents) all have blonde hair and
blue eyes, as Elly expresses in the game. So, this is acutally
one of the most valid (if not the most valid) explanations
of Krelian's change in hair colour.

- Raiu has kindly suggested that:
There are cases, where, in the event of experiencing extreme trauma
or a tragedy, a person's hair may change colour to grey. Though
Krelian's hair is slightly brownish, this could be a possible
reason for the change. Similarly...
- Assuming the efficiencey of the nano-machines don't decline
over 500 years, since our Krelian doesn't look all that old
(thankfully) it would mean that his hair was like that when the
machines were infused in his body. (If I'm not mistaken, "when"
is not mentioned specifically in the game and the last you see
of Krelian before the 500 year gap is when he still has blue hair,
and no nanomachines yet.) After all, one would think that becoming
a mad scientist can cause premature white hair. That said, the
machines could have been introduced to his body at the time in
his natural life span when he already looked as he looks in the
game's present setting.
- His hair colour could be a side effect of the nano-machines.If
the nano-machines are simply used to prevent his body from deteriorating/aging,
it could be easier to maintain his hair if it were light instead
of dark, since dark hair has more pigmentation.
- If you don't buy that one, then maybe he screwed up on an experiment
one day, something blew up in his face, and the stuff changed
his hair.
- A few hundred years of living above the clouds could lead to
a very extreme bleach job by the sun.
- His hair was never actually blue, he just dyed it when he was
in Nisan so it would match his outfit (and impress Sophia, too)
