Hidden behind a doorway lies
a 16th century alleyway. Originally inhabited by shoemakers, it
became so dilapidated that it was nearly demolished in the 60's. A
young entrepreneur saved it by buying and restoring the whole
complex. In summer true carillon fans try to find a place in the
narrow passages, the Vlaeykensgng is an excellent area to enjoy the
Cathedral's chimes and carillon concerts
