MATCH UP OF 2001: THE KRIPPLER VS. THE MAIN MAN
DATE: January 6th, 2001
THE KRIPPLER

 |
STRENGTHS:
The current PWA champion is a respected strategist who can adapt to the toughest of situations. His great technical skills and wrestling ability make the Krippler one of the top superstars in the PWA today.
WEAKNESSES:
The Krippler had suffered a severe neck injury in the early part last summer and it could easily be reaggravated if he is not careful about it, especially in a match against an opportunist and a veteran like the Main Man.
KEY WINS:
The Krippler had racked up an impressive winning streak last summer, defeating such superstars as the Real Deal in the Ring Master Tournament, and a successful title defense against the Professor of Pain at Life After Death.
KEY LOSSES:
Due to the impressive winning streak, the Krippler did not suffer a loss this past summer. However in the past he's suffered some key losses to the Real Deal, both times failing in his attempts to become the PWA champion.
FINISHING MOVE:
Once the Decisive Factor is properly executed, it is virtually impossible to formulate an escape. If he hits the Main Man with it at any time during the match, there is no question he will have succesfully defended his PWA Title.
STRATEGY:
The Krippler approaches every match with a game plan, and follows it to perfection. He needs to use his technical skills to keep the Main Man to the ground so that he will be unable to use his wide variety of deadly power moves.

THE MAIN MAN

 |
STRENGTHS:
The Main Man is an experienced wrestler who can match his opponents move for move, and he has held the PWA Title on several occasions. His intensity in the ring, combined with his sharp skills, enables him to overwhelm his opponents.
WEAKNESSES:
This past summer the Main Man has allowed himself to be easily distracted several times by the Krippler, resulting in many key losses which could have been avoided had he not let the Krippler get under his skin.
KEY WINS:
The Main Man has had some key wins this past summer in the PWA, especially in the Ring Master Tournament as he defeated such high profile superstars as Arrogance Personified's Dark Venom and the Professor of Pain.
KEY LOSSES:
At Summer Smash 2000 the Main Man lost his PWA Title in a retirement match against the Real Deal. He was however reinstated shortly afterwards. Another key loss was against a much smaller opponent, losing to the Model at Life After Death.
FINISHING MOVE:
His finishing move, the Bitch Slap, is a devastating finisher which has resulted in tremendous success for the Main Man. If he manages to execute this move on the Krippler, chances are he could regain his PWA Title.
STRATEGY:
The Main Man needs to concentrate on the speed of the Krippler by wearing him down with every strategic weapon in his measureless arsenal. He also cannot allow himself to be distracted at any point during the match, if he does it could prove to be costly.

PREDICTION
Undoubtedly, this match should be an intense battle. Both wrestlers rank among the elite in the Pondville Wrestling Alliance, and both possess incredible ring skills. They are supreme strategists and the outcome of such a match is very difficult to predict. However, I feel that the Main Man has the slight edge considering that he's focussed and more than anything else wants to hold the PWA Title for a third time. That would be a monumental event because he would become only the second wrestler in PWA history, along with the Real Deal, to win the championship on three seperate occasions.
