Reflection to ERIC Research Assignment

I have to admit that I was a bit skeptical about this assignment at the very beginning. Prior to this class, I had done a plethora of ERIC research. I’ve never had issues and I’ve always found the things I needed. However, after using the ERIC thesaurus and searching using the Major Headers, I realized that I was learning something that will be very helpful. I found that searching by the Major Headers, I was able to find exactly the types of article I was looking for without having to weed through a lot of irrelevant results. I found it to be a highly effective method for doing research on ERIC.

The bibliography that I created will be helpful in the future as I seek ways to integrate technology into the classroom while keeping the collaborative and hands-on approaches to learning. As I get into the teaching profession and I do research for my own personal interest, it would be beneficial to create bibliographies such as this so that I will always be able to go back and access the information I find. The bibliography that I created will be far more useful than any that I have created in the past. It lends itself to easy updating and adding because it lists the search strategies used so that I could easily pick up where I left off. The website aspect of it also adds to its usefulness because I can link it to an article review so that I don’t have as much to sift through in order to find the individual citations.
