Steve’s
Favorite Television
Well, I’m not
much of a TV junkie, but I do have a few favorite shows, past and present. Granted, I don’t always sit to watch them,
but when I can, it’s good times.
We have two Apprentice shows this season: Martha
Stewart and Donald Trump.
I’m more into Trump’s version, and though I missed parts of the first
season, this is one show I usually stop for.

This season, I selected the potential winner without
really looking into the candidates too much.
In doing so, I settled on Clay, and I have been cheering for him ever
since. |
|
Last season, I was cheering for Alex. He spent most of the first episodes running
things in the background. I really
felt he would be able to take it all the way.
In the end, Kendra pulled through and took the title of Apprentice. Danny’s musical recaps of the episodes were
pretty funny. |
|
This was a good season. It was fun watching “the boys”. Raj was always
trying to pick up the ladies, but they were much more interested in John. John played his looks off a group of gay
guys during the restaurant event. (He
would have gotten a good rating from me, too!) In the end Kelly ran away with the gold. |
|
I missed a few episodes and it wasn’t until later that I
became fully entangled. It was a good
run and I wish I could go back and see the beginning without having to buy
the DVD (which won’t happen). Jason
didn’t last long, but what a smile! Bill
eventually made history as Trump’s first Apprentice. |
|
It has been
fun watching the antics of Will, Grace, Jack, and Karen. The show fell a bit the last two years, but
it’s still an overall good show. I was
sad to see Grace get married just to get divorced. What was the point? Are Will and Grace doomed to be alone
together forever? This is the last
season, and so far there don’t seem to be any romantic fancies for either of
them. |
|
A new WB show
that’s like a mini-horror movie every week.
Two brothers are looking for their father. Along the way, they battle various
supernatural phenomena. |
|
Over now after 5 seasons, the show was great fun. I remember I was still working at
Blockbuster when the premiere hit Showtime. Not having Showtime at home (and being
treated like garbage by the district manager) I set up a VCR and taped the
premiere in the store. I was caught
and nearly fired for it, of course. But
it was a great show, groundbreaking, and it was time to move on. I await the next great gay drama. |
|
The story of Superman as a teen. I have not seen all the episodes, and only
catch it when I can. But I noticed
that the series started off very within the frame of the mythology, but then
it went far off. At some point, Lana
was possessed by a witch with magical powers. Huh?
But all in all, it’s a good show. |

Buffy the
Vampire Slayer Oh how I miss Buffy. My favorite character was, of course,
spell-casting |
|
Xena: Warrior Princess I loved Xena right from the
start. It was infinitely better than
its predecessor, Hercules, that was filled with a
pedantic hero. Xena
quested to fight her darkness with the help of Gabrielle. Watching their friendship grow along the
way was great. I miss the show. I cried when I saw the finale. It was a great journey. |

More to come…
For now, return
Home.
