Hosting QB Damage Points in VB/VBA

This page describes the steps to use the QB Damage Points Control in Visual Basic 5/6 (VB) and Visual Basic For Applications (VBA). This assumes you have properly installed QB Damage Points ActiveX Control (NOT the preview).

VBA is present on any computer running MS Office, not counting the numerous VB developers and applications hosting VBA. Therefore VB/VBA can be viewed as a powerful development tool for my QB Damage Points. Access VBA using Alt+F11 from any Office97+ application. Otherwise you can still get the FREE VB5 Control Creation Edition from Microsoft.

Putting the control on a form

Add QB Damage Points to your form/userform or document as you would do for any other ActiveX control. If QB Damage Points does not appear in the list of components available, you need to reinstall it.

At this stage, you can run the form or document, create a map, but you will not be able to configure anything. To do so, there are a couple of steps to follow.

Defining the initial settings

Initial settings determine which options will be available to the user.

In the property page:

Defining the initial configuration

The initial configuration contains the definition of the attributes of units, weapons and hte map. To change the configuration, click Edit Configuration from the property page.

The Configuration window allows you to add, delete or modify object attributes, and select the available run modes for your configuration. You can also import settings from another configuration, and export everything once you are finished.

Click Apply to confirm your changes when you leave the Configuration editor. Save the form/document to your disk.
