Venus - Earth's twin The shape, sizes, mass, and dense of venuse are very simlar to earth. It has no moon orbit around it. The rotation of venus is very different from earth. In venus the sun rise from west, and set in the east. The direction that earth rotates was called trograde rotation or counterclockwise direction. Venuse was been called retrograde direction or clockwise direction. Venus rotates very slow. Its planet day is even longer than its planet year. The atmosphere of venuse is 90 times of earth's. It consists mostly carbon dioxide, but it also contains some of the most corrosive acids known as the greenhouse effect. This is why the surface temperature is so high. With an average temperature of 464 degree C., Venus has the hottest surface of any planet in the solar system. Because of the extreme pressure, heat, and acidity, even the hardiest of the former Soviet Union’s Venera landers lasted little more than 2 hours on the surface! |
