Sending Photos

Club members are encouraged to send in photos taken during a walk for inclusion in the Newsletter.
Any photos should be emailed to qldbwc@yahoo.com stating the walk plus any special feature of the photo.

However the editor has full control over which photos will appear in the Newsletter.
This is mostly due to space and size restraints of the Newsletter.

There is limited space in the email box so please do NOT send that 10 megapixel photo by email! Reduce the size of the photo in pixel size and kilobyte size first. 

Here are a couple of guidelines.

• Photos should be between 1000 to 2000 pixels wide. 1024 x 768 or 1600 x 1200 pixels are fine.
• Each photo should not be larger than 500 Kilobytes.

Most digital cameras come with a graphics program which allow you to decrease the size of the photo for emailing. So please use it if you are taking high resolution photos.

This site has been mainly set up to help Club members who assist with the Club Newsletter, Website and Calendar.
However the Graphics section may be of help to anyone as it explains what pixels and resolution is, what cropping and resizing is and the differences between some graphic file formats.

It also has step by step instructions with screenshots on how to use two simple graphic programs, IrfanView and MS Photo Editor.
