4th - 5th December 1999
The Christmas Social was held at the Mt Barney Lodge over the weekend.
Thirteen members attended. Arriving on the Friday night, we chose our
sleeping quarters, had a chat and a drink and watched the sun set on
Barney.
Saturday was quite hot for the walk to the Cascades but some of us
certainly cooled off quickly when we took a dip in the icy cold pool at
the bottom of the Cascades. We had lunch and headed back, arriving back
at the Huts about 2:30 pm. Saturday night was the barbecue and
Christmas get together which included some of the local wild-life
joining us.
During the evening Richard livened up the night by posing a number of
questions to all the ladies about their favourite things and a word or
two to describe them. Little did we know we were offering an insight
into ourselves, our partners and our intimate lives.
Sunday morning was a little disorganised. After packing up, six of us
walked up the creek from Yellow Pinch for a very pleasant swim (nowhere
near as cold as the day before).
Lyn had left earlier to travel to Mooloolabah for lunch and the
remainder of the group stayed at the Lodge and enjoyed the beautiful
surroundings. Fruit and chocolate cake for lunch completed our day. We
headed for home about 1:00 pm.
Thanks to everyone who came along to make it a great finish to the
year.
