CHANGELING ASPECTS

In conjunction with Dr. Widdowson and Pindara Hospital we have put together a Support Group. This has the full support of Hospital management.

If anyone coming to Pindara for reassignment wishes to take advantage, then please let Dr. Widdowson’s office know, who in turn will notify me.

The idea is to pick up people arriving in Brisbane by air and to transfer them to Pindara. Also if required Support will be offered via visits. All of this is totally dependent on the patient wishing to participate,their word either way is final.

Some background for you. My name is Kathy and I have transitioned, so know what it is like to be in Hospital for 7 to 10 days. The staff are excellent, the care first class, but if you are on your own then a visit from another who has already gone through may be very welcome. Also there are things only we know that either have or will happen, and the staff may not be able to answer these questions.

Primarily the idea is to put one at ease, be hassle free in transfer to Pindara, coffee before leaving, talk, if wished to ease the tensions, and delivery to the Staff, hopefully in a relaxed atmosphere.

This is a purely voluntary operation, so any donation towards cost of petrol would be appreciated.
