What Agender offers Mission Statement About Us Comming Events Dress Standards Meetings Usefull links Home |
Members are requested when attending Agender social gatherings or meetings (in particular those held in other members private residences) to be particularly mindful of dress standards.
Why should we make this request?
Simply because when in the company of others we do not wish to offend or turn others away who may be self conscious, shy or simply do not appreciate other people making spectacles of themselves in public. We should be mindful too of how the member hosting the evening feels about dress standards and other peoples’ behaviour.
When you come to a members’ home you may inadvertently come into contact with that member’s neighbours so please remember the hostess has to live there twenty-four hours a day.
What you may choose to do in your own home or in the company of one or two other personal friends is entirely over to you, but when your actions may affect or distress other members of our group we may have to request a more appropriate standard of dress or behaviour.
So please endeavour to dress appropriately and according to your age and try not to appear as mutton dressed as lamb for you may find that others are offended or that you are seen by the general public as a ‘drag queen’ or some other form of undesirable (in the observers eye) even though you may be accepted by your colleagues, and subsequently are subjected to verbal or physical abuse.
