Are natural disasters like hurricanes, flood & drought not due to impairment in ecosystem, caused by man- made- pollution? Is the damage caused to Ozone not due to over production of chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and carbon dioxide? Is it not more dangerous than nuclear war if damages caused to Ozone become irreversible? Are damages caused to Ozone & impairment to ecosystem time sensitive and if not recovered well in time can go beyond control? Can nuclear war not flare up intentionally or by mistake? Can a just political & social global structure in term of global union not make our globe an Eden of long lasting peace and prosperity? |
Being children of Adam and Eve living on a single planet, having common interest of profit and loss, why we cannot be civilized enough too, to live in a single country having a single government, under a single flag and a single central command with all the existing countries as internally independent states but externally under the same single federation with a single capital and single CURRENCY--free from nightmare of nuclear war, far away from menace of corruptions, poverty, injustices, and mass conflicts?
Viability There are different countries on the globe with different structure, belief and capabilities, having differences and disputes with one another. These disputes are basically attributed by poverty and poverty inevitably takes its roots from economical and social disparity that ultimately spawns the main cause of hypocrisy and dispersion. This condition subsequently paves the way for terrorism. Terrorism can easily thrive in independent countries where others have no legitimate access of investigation. The most drastic thing is this that more or less 75% of the total budget of majority of these countries is spent on arm race, weaponries and ammunitions aimed to target their own brothers and sisters while their people are beset by poverty, hunger, malnutrition and looming pandemics such as HIV/AIDS and similar other diseases. With the concept of single country on our planet--a sustainable global democracy where our functioning would be fully democratized on the base of democratically-evolved consensus and intellectualism--all humanities can do even without arm force and weapons of mass destruction. A responsible and accountable security force to be drawn up from amongst the most brilliant men and women through a fair & transparent public service commission is required to be deployed for security management. It should be so structured that these public servants should stand accountable at any stage. The saving emerging from abolition of arm & arm-wares can be utilized for other development projects aimed to eradicate poverty and other looming miseries. Development today is no longer a management of domestic resources and policies alone. It is an integrated process linked to the international economic environment. We must develop equitable system to freely manage global trade, investment flows and movement of services wherever required. It is evident that under the existing global system terrorism and corruption can easily expand all over the world. The countries of the worlds are economically and socially so interwoven and inextricably interdependent now that the event in one country can simultaneously affect others regardless of their social structure and geographical location. The incident of September the 11th did not remain limited to US alone rather it engulfed the whole world instantly. With exclusion of arm-ware, ammunitions and army from budgetary allocation of these countries; we may avail a substantial sources of financing for development and can make access to technologies that are necessary to assist those who are marginalized, and in turn we may have greater expediency of new expeditions towards betterment in all spheres of life and new discoveries in the years to come. A great number of factories, in the developed countries, are producing complicated weaponries whilst enhancing the volume of chlorofluorocarbons and carbon-dioxide which cause further damages to Ozone and extensive impairment and degradation to ecosystem. If this issue is not addressed by the world community soon, the day is not far away that some parts of our planet may burn in drought and other washed out with flood over which we might have no control. This is even more threatening than atomic war that can be prevented with an expanding chain of efforts to refashion international structures in term of global union, synchronised with contemporary realities based on participatory decision-making intelligentsia. This is only viable if we have a single country on the globe and need no arm-ware thus the factories emitting intense pollution can be replaced with environment-friendly technologies for promoting agriculture, food stuff and eradication of poverty on global level. Having formidable disputes especially amongst countries that are nuclear powers, possibility of their slipping into war at any moment cannot be rolled out and that can entail nuclear war as well. Things will naturally not stay there and the neighboring countries, having their own potentials, would ultimately be involved where all habitats on the globe including animals & human beings would be the losers. The weapons once invented are inevitably used too later or sooner. War can flare up when there are disputes in between countries. These types of disputes naturally make the rivals gluttonous over the dominion of one another to conquer and have more in one hand, and desperation of poverty and marginalisation on the other can lead them to nuclear war. Nuclear war, the danger of which is hovering on our heads now, naturally does not remain circumscribed to the disputed parties alone, thus setting both the prosperous and the poor to live in an environment of fear and nightmare; that is what the HELL is all about. the concept of GLOBAL UNION the desire for having control over the dominions of one another is automatically eliminated then there would be no dispute and thus no war. Factories manufacturing arm-ware replaced with environment-friendly technologies for food processing to fight starvation and medicine to combat diseases, thus a state of peace and harmony of coexistence will emerge and we will not be ashamed of any man made atrocity nor there be any on our planet as a result of rooting out the main CAUSE, to which all these looming atrocities are EFFECTS. It is not easy-- but is not even more difficult and expensive than destroying and rehabilitating-- yet demands perpetual elaboration to be worked out because there are countries that are not ready to let go of their might easily. If they are given sufficient logic that the ship we all are aboard is likely to sink owing to this hypocrisy and dispersion and no one is left to have it; then they may realize the consequences. We have other problems too like scarcity of drinking water, intensity of pollution, life threatening diseases like HIV/AIDS, Tuberculoses etc and addition of tens of thousands heads in our population annually for which we have to be at a state of alert even now. All these need our immediate planning for which we should earmark budgets out of our savings. With the presumption that there is nothing impossible except impossible itself, Global Union is definitely possible. The history shows that when there were 13 states in USA they were fighting one another when they let go of their disputes and united thus became more prosperous. Now there are even more than 55 states they have no problem like those countries in conflict with one another. European Union with Euro as their single currency is another good example. They now share their services, expertise and economical means wherever required amongst them. Other countries are joining European Union for the sake of this virtue. This GLOBAL UNION can be nothing but a broader step of greater union on our planet, which is the ultimate requirement of the world under the circumstances. Those who can do this would deserve a NOBLE PEACE PRIZE in the real sense. It is where Adam and Eve would be proud of their children. This move, I think, has not so far been made nor was it needed as much in the past as is today. Besides intensity of man-made impairment in ecosystem and damages to Ozone that caused substantial environmental changes like drought in some parts and floods in others, the menace of atomic, chemical and bio-chemical wars is instantly threatening the whole world to the extent that every now and then intentionally or unintentionally our globe, where we have all the resources for prosperous long lasting happy life, may be mired in the vortex of drastic devastation |
