Dragons Gate

"I liked this book because it makes Otter realize that every good thing said about that camp and his Uncle was not true. It also shows that Otter has great courage which is a good survival trait."

This story is about a young Chinese Boy named Otter. When an accident that was caused by him forces him to leave China he thinks he is more than ready. He will join his father in California where he is working on the transcontinental railroad. He finds that the America he dreamed of isn't reality. The Chinese are little more than slaves forced to make a path through the Sierra Nevada Mountains. He learns that his Uncle is not the great hero he thought him to be. Otter endures hard ship after hard ship and through courage he survives.






The Hobbit

"I like all the adventures that Bilbo takes. I am a big lover of fantasy books. I like all the make believe creatures, like hobbits, dwarves, elves, wizards, and dragons just to name a few."

This book starts when a company of dwarves and the wizard Gandalf show up at Bilbo's door. They tell him that a lot of gold belonging to the dwarves was stolen by Smog the Dragon. They had chosen Bilbo to be the 14th member of their party. And Bilbo is dragged along unwilling into adventure and danger. He must face dragons, evil giant spiders, flesh eating trolls, and a ring that might destroy him.





The Black Cauldron

"I like this book because of the princess in it. Princess Elinowy is smart and reasonable. It is also just a plain good book."

Taran is an assistant pig keeper who has done more than just live on a farm. He has fought side by side with the great Prince Gwydion. A new danger has come to the area and he has been chosen to take part in it. Gladly he excepts his task. He is supposed to help Prince Gwydion steal the cauldron back from Annivun where it is being used to create the cauldron born that never die. He defies the rules and risks his own life and his companions lives in order to obtain the cauldron.






Ella Enchanted

She rebels against her gift and her father as she sets out to break the curse that was put upon her. Her terrible step sisters do everything to stop her but she pulls through.






White Fang

White Fang is born into a world of danger. When his father disapears and his mother is caught by indians White Fang has no choice but to go with him. The indians dogs are mean and the village people hate him As he is handed over from one owner to another he becomes mean and aggressive. A nice owner tries to make him forget the troubles in his past. Can he make the wolf-dog tame and trusting or will he always stay the same?
