Queueing Theory Software Overview

We are pleased to announce the availability of QtsPlus (Thompson, Harris and Gross), software for solving a wide range of queueing models. The software is based on the textbook Fundamentals of Queueing Theory, 4th Ed, 2008, Gross, Shortle, Thompson and Harris, John Wiley & Sons, Inc.

QtsPlus Version 3 is an update version that contains new models reflected in the 4th Edition textbook. QtsPlus provides the following improvements over the Qts Standard:

  Larger models. For example, the Open Jackson Network model in QtsPlus supports up to a 50 node network, whereas the Qts Standard only supported up to a ten nodes.

  Improved user interface. The new version makes of colors, performs input parameter validity checks and checks for queueing model stability.

  Tutor facility. This facility demonstrates how models are applied to real-world situations.

  Customizable simulation tools to analyze situations where analytic or numerical results do not exist.
