The first photo on the left is a postcard of New Bund during the night. The view
is even more beautiful than daytime. The second one is a picture that I took while walking along
the shoreline. The "park" along the shore is filled with people resting, chatting, and even
playing chess. It is one of the main attractions of Shanghai. The "Peace Hotel" is located here too.
They have a Jazz band that plays jazz music from the 60s. The third photo from is the old headquarters of
Hong Kong Bank of Shanghai.

I read it in the information board in Pearl Tower that it is a "sister" tower of CN Tower. I
personally likes CN Tower better, somehow the
big "Pearl" on the tower looks kind of strange to me. Like most high rises, if you go up the tower,
you can have a full view of the New Bund since it is right across the river. The "island" of which
the new commercial district is built on is new land created by natural flow of sediments from
the Yellow River. Each year, these sediments expands Shanghai towards the ocean. Now that's what I
called a "growing" city!! This new commercial district is no different from other commercial
districts in the world. But in Shanghai, they have quite a few funky buildings. The third photo
from the left has a building that looks like a vase to me. And the one beside it is a nite view of
the "vase" building. There is another one that reminds me of Notre Dame cathedral but looks
kind of strange too.
