Computer Art Self Portrait Assignment

This project was meant to be a self portrait. It was determined that, after a
lengthy in-class discussion, the term "self portrait" applied to any image
containing essentially any part of you at all. One person in the class had
just his hand on a window sill, with the rest of the image completely unrelated
to portraying him at all, and this qualified... Anyway, back to the picture at
hand... The background for this image is a picture of the corner of one of the
dorms on campus. The photograph of me climbing was to be a chameleon climbing up
this same wall. However, I made the first project into a lizard, so I figured
I'd do something else. The dragonfly wings and tail thing came from an actual
photograph of a dragonfly, snatched from some webstie. Using careful
manipulation techniques, I converted me into that thing on the wall there.
The ivy you see climbing on the wall was all drawn by hand, using a Wacom
drawing tablet. Man did that take forever... I think I like this the least of
my four Computer Art projects, but it still came out very well. Did you notice
the extra set of arms behind the wings?
