Media Arts Studio Self Portrait/Realism Assignment

This was the third of four projects assigned for the class. Or at least this was my interpertation of the third assignment. For some people, this was two seperate assignments. For some there was no assignment involving realism. Wacky. Anyway, back to the picture. I wanted to make myself look like the Dracula with the long hair and beard and moustache and round sunglasses from the movie "Bram Stoker's Dracula". I spent many hours searching for a picture of him so I knew what to do, but couldn't find one. So, I just played around with it until it looked right. The picture of me is a video captured image (filmed on a Hi-8 video tape and then grabbed with a Mac...) manipulated with Photoshop to give the illusion of Dracula-ishness. I was not wearing a trench coat, did not have a cane, and did not have beard nor moustache when this picture was taken. In fact, I was wearing blue jeans and a sort of flannel shirt thing. The castle comes from a much larger picture that I found taken on some guys vacation to lots of castles in Europe. Originally, he was standing where I am, and there were three other people in the background: two in front of the bench on the left, and one on the right. If you look really close, you can see where I obliterated them, but if you just glance at it, it appears as if this were the original picture. And that was the whole point of making this in the first place.
