Heaven's Kiss

As I slumber
beneath the majestic flowering dogwood,
images of you flood my mind:

A gentle kiss upon my cheek--
It seems so real!

Startled, I awake.
I see you not.
How can I when you've so long been gone?

A pair of delicate rouge petals
slides from my pondering face,
fluttering softly to the ground.

A smile--
Only the lips of my long-lost angel
could be so fair.
