Amontilath's Impression to Tahre..er..T're

Tahre ran out of the candidate's barracks, many other candidates at his heels. He was late!! He ran until he reached the hatching grounds, then walked slowly in as though he had a purpose.

Tahre was so busy watching all of the candidates walk in he did not realize the first egg had hatched. Then they all started hatching at the same time! Tahre didn't know what to do! It was like smithcrafters at a wine tasting!

Right as Tahre looked back to where the dragonets were hatching out of their eggshell-homes, three dragons had escaped their eggs, almost at the same time. A brown, a green, and a blue were those lucky three to be born at the same time. The blue was the first to move, and he didn't hesitate to find the one he wanted, and he ran towards the boys, knocking another boy from his feet. "What's the rush, Wayrith?" Tahre heard the boy ask, but was interrupted by a thought erupting in his head. Stop thinking about those purple things. The brown commanded, almost regally. He had a piece of shell on his face yet, covering one eye like a monacle. He shook it off, then tromped across the sands to the candidates, butting Tahre in the leg to get his attention.

"They're grapes, Amontilath, not silly purple things." Tahre said, as he knelt down to look into the brown dragonet's eyes.

Whatever. the brown said. As long as I can eat them. I'm hungry. Tahre laughed, and walked with his new lifemate off of the sands. He'd have to teach him all about those grapes, so he'd stop calling them silly purple things. They were important! And they weren't always purple. I know they come in white too, and they make that wine stuff. You don't need to teach me, I know what you know, T're.

T're was stunned, he didn't know that they knew everything their riders knew. Then it hit him. 'I'm a dragonrider!' Amontilath looked at him, the look on his little dragonet face seeming to say 'Well Duh.' T're laughed as he took the dragonet out of the sands and fed him well, always having to remind the little one to chew his food, there would be plenty where this came from. Then he bathed him in the lake, making sure to get him nice and clean. He then walked over to where the weyrling barracks were, and found that somoene had left a note and a small pot of oil on his new cot. He read the note and it said, "Perfect oil for a perfect dragon, with his new rider T're." Somehow when he read that note he knew that it wasn't coincidence that the oil was here.. and he knew it was only on his cot. He oiled Amontilath, looking around at the weyrling barracks where he knew he'd stay until they would let him transfer back to Icerain.. he missed Evarnat. Will Evarnat impress one of my brothers or sisters, T're? T're laughed "I don't know, Amontilath, I don't know.. somehow.. I hope he might, he needs a little bit of stability, things keep changing for him. He's an alright boy, but sometimes I think he needs to be in a relationship so he understands love and responsiblity. He..." T're trailed off as he realized that Amontilath had fallen asleep in his couch. He sighed, and changed into gather-worthy apparel and went out to enjoy the festivites. As he left he whispered to his dragon "Sleep well, Amontilath."
