Spaetzle Dumplings

Modified Taste of Home

2 cups flour

4 eggs, lightly beaten

1/3 cup milk

2 tsp salt

2 quarts water

1 tbsp butter

In a large bowl, mix flour, eggs, milk and salt until smooth (dough will be sticky). In a large saucepan, bring water to a boil.  Pour dough into a colander coated with nonstick cooking spray, place over boiling water. 

With a wooden spoon, press dough until small pieces drop into boiling water.  Cook for two minutes or until dumplings are tender and float.  Remove with a slotted spoon; toss with butter.

Makes 6 servings.
