Welcome to our Wedding

WolfTempest & DragonTempest met on-line March 28, 1998 through Yahoo! Personals. Yes, that's right. We met each other through Internet personals. *smiles* I was living in South Carolina where I was attending college; he was living in Georgia, not too far from my family. We decided to met in person April 6, 1998. He came to my grandmother's house & what we thought would be just a short visit turned into a long one. We had fun once we got to know each other more & deal with the fact that we're actually seeing each other face-to-face. We shared our first kiss before he left. ("Aaww, so sweet", I can hear most of y'all saying.) Needless to say, I got into hot water with my family for inviting a total stranger to the house. It was safer than meeting him elsewhere, if things went wrong, right?
Anyways... We kept in touch via email, phone calls & ICQ. Every now & then, he would travel up to SC to spend time with me. We went to the movies, out to dinner & other things. I was involved in the college's theatre company, so he would come to see the shows I was working with. He even came to my graduation to celebrate with me. (My family wasn't too pleased that I'd kept in touch with him.) For me, it was around that time I discovered that I was falling in love with him. We'd only known each other for almost two months but I was still feeling that way. I stayed in SC after graduation to take a few more classes. I became really ill & was brought back to GA to recover for about a month. He came to see me as often as my family allowed him in the door.
On November 25, 1998, the day before Thanksgiving, DT proposed to me. I was floored, flattered & speechless... Though not too speechless to say yes! The next day, we shared the news with my dad's family & he was welcomed with smiles & hugs. The following day, we told my mother's family. They were not happy at all. In order to try to smooth things out, DT & I agreed to wait a year before getting married.
We held our wedding February 4, 2000. It was a quiet civil ceremony that meant more than a fancy wedding. But we hope to renew our vows sometime soon, either at Texas' Scarborough Faire or later this year.
