Alchenda is the patron of spies and information gatherers; the listener hidden in the shadow. She is often misconstrued as a deity of thieves, but the Unseen One is not directly concerned with most of their activities.
Alchenda is the daughter of Burthaggid and Ul'ty but shares few similarities with her parents. She has limited association with Huthunic and Gadaru but is most fond of Rancorin. Alchenda opposes her brother Aieridyn and strongly dislikes Throntis. Above all, she hates Arcannis and seeks to undermine him at every opportunity.
When she chooses to be seen, Alchenda usually appears as a shadow whose voice is scarcely more than a whisper. She occasionally assumes the form of a human or elven female with midnight skin, raven hair, and silvery eyes. In this visage she wears dark robes and carries hidden short swords. Common titles for Alchenda are the Unseen One, Lady of Night, and Mistress of Silence.
Alchenda's priests are experts in subtlety, stealth, misdirection, and information gathering. They use their talents to undermine their foes and relish their ability to deceive others. Priests of the Unseen One often hide their holy symbols upon their person, and assume roles in virtually every other profession, including the pretense as a priest of a different deity. Alchenda's clergy residing in goodly-aligned areas live dual identities and often work to embed themselves within governments. From these positions they corrupt others within their influence and weaken the powers of good.
Temples to the Unseen One are hidden structures that are never obvious, even in evil lands. They are frequently concealed behind the guise of a business or appear as a building constructed for some other purpose.
See the description of Tayne, God of Honor.
