Role:

Ankaris is the deity of fire and the patron of fire-based creatures. It was Ankaris who hurled fire into the sky to make the sun. When angered by the world of mortals, his wrath manifests as volcanic eruptions.

The Fire Lord is the son of Olhantam and Chulatae. Ankaris is close to his brother Zandaron, and they unite frequently against Isbri and Ul'ty. Ankaris is the fatehr of Arcannis and Tayne, both sons of Motara. During a brief association with Ul'ty, he fathered a third son, Huthunic.

Ankaris' clergy are divided into three separate factions: The Order of Light is good, and wears white robes. The Order of the Sun is neutral, and wears gold robes. The Order of the Flame is evil, and wears red robes.

To the Order of Light, Ankaris is a huge, powerfully muscled, bronze-skinned man wearing plate armor and wielding a greataxe. To the Order of the Sun, Ankaris appears as a huge fire elemental. To the Order of the Flame, he is a great fire giant. In all his forms, he displays little tolerance, is infamously unforgiving, and is merciless in his wrath. Common titles for Ankaris are the Fire Lord, Father of Flame, and Bringer of Warmth.

Priests of Ankaris seek to bring fire and all its uses to everyone, preaching the benefits of fire, and warning of the Fire Lord's wrath against infidels. Ankaris' priests prefer hot climates but freely travel in temperate latitudes during summer months. They despise winter, but ironically, it is when they are most welcome by communities.

Places of worship to Ankaris are usually found in large settlements. Though the religion favors arid climates, his temples are occasionally located in seaports.
